Thesis: A study of the taxonomy, ecology, and systematics of Culicoides species (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae) including those associated with deer breeding facilities in southeast Texas.
Research interests: Taxonomy and systematic of Culicoides with an emphasis on the sub-genus Monoculicoides, a group of great economic importance in North America. Culicoides sonorensis and C. variipennis vector the disease causing agents of Bluetounge and Epizootic hemorrhagic disease to cows, sheep, and white-tailed deer.
