Research / Job Description:
- Oversight of the Orkin Correspondence Course. Duties include tracking and grading tests; informing Orkin of their students progress in the course; enroll new students who register for the course; update, correct and expand information in the course manuals and supporting materials; and assist with developing methods towards moving the course to an on-line offering.
- Assist with conducting research activities on termites and cockroaches. Duties include colony maintenance; field research and collection activities (including termite grids and roach baiting); laboratory activities; data analysis, etc. Involves supervision / training of student workers. Responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of various research equipment.
- Assist with writing research reports following the completion of projects; assist in the preparation of proposals to funding agencies; and develop graphics for use in reports and presentations
- Assisit with the planning and impementing the annual Urban Pest Management Conference and Workshop. This includes maintaining the conference website (http://pcoconference.tamu.edu) and set-up and maintenance of audio-video equipment.
- Assist with the Philip J. Hamman Termite Control Training School. This includes putting together binders to be handed out, collect specimens to be shown at the school, and other prep work as needed. Assist with other conferences, workshops, etc, as needed.
